The stunning skylines that Avedis created as an homage to his memories of New York City before the events of 9/11 were honored with a one-man show presented by Citibank in New York on the first anniversary of the tragedy.
Avedis creates his dimensional skyline sculptures by layering building facades scored on Styrene, a plastic used by architects to build models that simulate buildings. Each building is individually cut and colored by hand into shapes to simulate certain existing buildings at a particular district of Manhattan.
Avedis does not duplicate the actual buildings but interprets their esthetic vision. Each sculpture is signed and is one of kind.
